About Product:

Essiac tea was given its name by Registered Nurse, Rene Caisse ("caisse" spelt backwards), and has been trusted since 1922. The original formula is believed to have its roots from the native Canadian Ojibway people. The four key ingredients that make up the Essiac formula are associated with various medicinal benefits. Burdock root is used to help detoxify the lymphatic system, as well as work as a blood purifier to clear toxins out of the bloodstream. Sheep sorrel is commonly used to help reduce pain and inflammation associated with sinusitis. In addition, the tannins in this herb help to decrease the overproduction of mucus. Indian rhubarb root acts as a gentle laxative and helps to support liver cleansing by removing toxic buildup and waste, thus improving Essiac tea’s detoxifying effects. This herb also contains malic acid, which helps the body make ATP more efficiently, aiding in both energy levels and healing. Slippery elm is high in antioxidants and beneficial to the gastrointestinal system. It contains mucilage, which coats and soothes the lining of the mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines. It also stimulates increased mucus secretion in the GI tract, which can guard against problems such as excess acidity and ulcers. Essiac has been shown to have significant antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties.

Directions: Adults: take 2-3 tsps. (10-15ml) two to three times daily, one hour before or after meals. As a reminder, discuss the supplements and medications you take with your health care providers. One bottle will last 1-2 weeks if taken as suggested. Use within 2 weeks after opening. Shake before using and refrigerate after use.

Cautions:  Do not take if you have kidney stones or arthritis or gastro-intestinal disorders including intestinal obstruction or appendicitis, abdominal pain of unknown origin, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis.  Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have diabetes, if you take oral medication and/or if symptoms persist or worsen.
